Alexandra Lapp is a German model and influencer, who started her blogging career at the age of 40. She has over 350K followers on her Instagram account and her community is still growing. Her style is always on point, with the perfect mix of cool classic pieces and the latest trends. We are so glad to introduce Alexandra in this month's Q&A series!
I would say I stayed very true to my style throughout the years. I love to dress rather chic with a classic touch and of course, I am a big fan of combining the latest trends with my beloved vintage pieces.
I have to admit that Sex and the City has had and will always have a big influence on the way I style my looks and especially the character of Carrie Bradshaw, I’ll always admire her confidence when it comes to style. Patricia Field simply did an amazing job and many of the styles she created for the four ladies became iconic!
I do believe in the power of a nice suit with a classic cut and own many of them in several colors. You can either style them in a very formal way with high-heels and a blouse or a little more casual with sneakers and a t-shirt. But no matter in which way you style them, you’re always well-dressed and this gives me confidence and the feeling that I can conquer the world no matter what!
My mother used to work in fashion and my dad was a shoe wholesaler so I think it is fair to say that I was born into fashion. As our basement was my dad’s sample room it was always full of shoes and I loved to spend time there as a kid, look at the shoes and of course try some even though they were ways too big back then. My mother was and still is a very well-dressed woman who loves fashion. My little sister and I used to play fashion show wearing our mother’s clothes and even back then I loved to reassemble her looks and style the pieces differently each time. These are for sure my first fashion related memories and I cherish them a lot!
Luxury has many facets to me. On the one hand, it is the beautiful things in life and being able to treat myself now and then with something really special. On the other hand, I think it is a great luxury to be fortunate and able to make a living from blogging about my favourite topics, as I can’t imagine anything I would enjoy more as a profession.
As the pandemic resulted in more me-time at home I had the chance to spend a lot of time browsing numerous fashion websites, reading blogs, articles and got inspired by spending time with coffee table books, which are my secret obsession, as well as following the digital live streams of fashion shows that were offered by all of my favourite brands. All of these activities sparked my creativity and I tried many new things in terms of styling. On top of this, I explored and experimented with new content formats like for example Instagram Reels.
It is hard to choose three so I make it four and hope this is fine! I really like AGGI for its strong fits and the great mix of textures and colors, Ksenia Kams for the outstanding ability to combine classic, vintage and modern styles, Brigitte Herskind as it’s the personification of Copenhagen which is a city I simply adore as well as MANOKHI as I am a big fan of their leather pieces due to their unique silhouettes, which are a perfect mix between soft and rough.
