Some pieces have the power to make you feel confident in any situation. How do you find the right pieces for your clients? Tell us about a specific moment that really made your client stand out.
Doing fundamental research, always trying to highlight the specific advantages of each individual. Focusing more on what style suits my client and her personality rather than only looking for the latest trends. The trick is to make the client feel comfortable. If you succeed with that, the style shines and is fulfilled.
I remember when I once dressed one of my clients Bianca Ingrosso, who’s one of the jury members of Sweden’s Got Talent, in a quite extravagant yellow dress with leopard patterns from Diane von Furstenberg. It was quite outstanding and spectacular but so appreciated and was on everyone’s lips for a while after that.
When did you first realize that fashion and styling had a special meaning to you? Do you have a particular memory that you could share with us?
As long as I can remember I’ve had an interest in fashion, styling and clothes and especially for shape, fabrics and textures. When I was in school my friends always used me for styling tips.
This is when I realized that my interest in this field was more driven towards styling people with focus on them and their specific personalities & body shapes.
For me it’s never been about dressing everyone in the same trend but finding each person’s individual style and what goes with their personalities.
What type of project is the most fun to style? A red carpet event, a magazine shoot or something else?
The favourite parts of my job are when I do “red carpet”-styling and styling for Television shows.
The reason for that is because these two fields are more challenging than for example photo shoots in terms of fit and looks.
In television they film from every angle, so the fit needs to be perfect all around. For a perfectionist like myself that can certainly be quite challenging sometimes.
