Motherhood in Every Thread: Elvira Renner of SoLoveAble
As the founder of SoLoveAble, Elvira Renner is redefining children's wear with timeless, sustainable pieces made from the softest cashmere. But beyond the beauty of her designs lies a deeper story — one of a mother balancing entrepreneurship with everyday life.
In this Mother’s Day interview, Elvira shares how parenthood has shaped her leadership, challenged her sense of time, and brought new meaning to her work. From playground stops after meetings to quiet moments at home, she reflects on the realities of modern motherhood — and the magic in between.
What has been the biggest challenge in balancing motherhood and running a company, and how do you navigate it?
For me, the biggest challenge is time. Balancing it equally is really hard sometimes. When I feel like I’m not giving enough to the company, I try to remind myself that being there for my son is what matters most. I’ve also learned to trust my partner and my team — they help me keep the business running when I need to focus on motherhood.
Has being a parent changed the way you approach creativity or leadership in your business?
Becoming a parent hasn’t changed the way I approach creativity, but it has definitely changed how I lead. As a parent, you grow and evolve. You try to understand your child in every way, and you learn from them every single day. Motherhood has taught me to be better — to be more empathetic, to take time to really listen, to communicate more clearly, and to solve problems as a team.
What does a typical day look like for you when you're juggling both work and family life?
A typical day looks like this:
We wake up around 6 a.m., make breakfast, and get ready for kindergarten. I drop my son off at Kita by 8:30 a.m., then I head to work.
After work, I pick him up and we usually go to the playground for half an hour. Every day is a little different depending on my workout schedule — sometimes my partner takes over, other days I do.
In the evening, we come home, prepare dinner, and go through our nighttime routine.
Is there a piece of advice you would give to other mothers who dream of starting their own brand?
My advice to moms who want to start their own business: just do it. Trust the process and don’t overthink everything. Every experience is a win, even if you fail, you’ve tried, and you’ve become wiser for your next step.
What do you think is the best thing about being a mom?
The best thing about being a mom is the love you receive from your child. It’s pure magic — and it’s just SoLoveAble.
